Whether you enjoy writing blog posts or you do it because you “have to” to help build your business’s brand, you may be getting tired of writing blog posts that no one is reading, commenting on or sharing. How to increase blog traffic is a question we get asked regularly by the clients we work with.
How To Increase Blog Traffic
There are some ways to increase your blog traffic. Let’s explore a few.
- Add a “click to Tweet” function and make it easier for those who read your blog post to share your content. Make certain the content you’re offering as “click to Tweet” is valuable and intriguing. If you’re working on Wordpress, there are many widgets available to make tweeting content easier.
- Work with influencers to share content. You can share and comment on theirs, they can share and comment on yours. Leverage influencers and grow your brand. Find complementary business colleagues and begin sharing content. It’s a win-win.
- A blog post is not a one and done proposition. When you write it you need to continually share different snippets of it on various social media sites. Leverage the sites you’re on and put a content marketing strategy in place to share the content more than one time.
- Repurpose content. If you wrote a blog post of “top ten tips” use those tips individually in different ways. For example, make a video for each tip. Put together an info graphic with the tips. Use the tips individually in a newsletter. Look to your existing content and repurpose it.
- Make certain the content you’re writing is search engine optimized. Craft your headline in a way that is intuitively searchable. Add in keywords to make the blog post searchable and amp up your Google juice by knowing which keywords you want your clients and potential clients to find you with.
If you’re new to blogging, remember it’s a slow and steady wins the race. It takes time. It takes effort. It will pay off!
