How can you use social media to promote your event? Here are a few things to try.

  1. Video sells! Go live on Facebook or Instagram or TikTok. Make a quick, personable video talking about your event. Make sure you have a call to action at the end of your video. “DM us today!” “Drop us an email in the comments below.” Talk about your event, about why it will benefit anyone who wants to attend and what benefits they will walk away with.
  2. Claim a hashtag for your event. When you start using a hashtag on social media, you can gain traction and you can also use the hashtag as an easier way to connect with attendees or potential attendees. Every time you talk about the event or share any info about it, use the hashtag. Ask followers to use the hashtag as well.
  3. Giveaways draw people in. There aren’t many people who won’t enter a drawing or give their email address if they think they will have a chance to win a prize. Try to use your prizes to gain sign-ups. Don’t use your own products or services as the giveaways – you can use it for some, but not all. Offer an Amazon gift card or another gift card you can easily email and that they can use no matter where they are. Offer more chances to win a prize if someone tags a friend or uses your hashtag — make it fun!
