Do you know what your company’s most powerful marketing tool is? We think it’s your website and your blog. You own the real estate upon which your blog is written and you own the content. You are the master of the content and that is great! But if you want to know how to write great blog posts, stick with us because it’s not enough to have a blog — it has to be filled with content that your ideal customers want to read.
How To Write Great Blog Posts
- Craft a great headline. It is the headline that will amp up the searchability of the blog post. Make it relevant and use keywords suited to your industry.
- Once you’ve crafted the ideal headline you need to follow up on the promise of the headline by delivering value in the opening paragraph. The opening paragraph sets up the expectations for the rest of the blog post. The intro paragraph is what will hook the reader and keep him with you.
- Write toward a specific audience. You can’t be all things to all people. Having a specific audience in mnd will keep the blog post focused on on track.
- Write about one topic only. It is easy to get off on a tangent when you’re writing a blog post but avoid that and write about one topic only.
- Make certain you’re using the keywords you have researched to help your business be found. Don’t keyword stuff the posts, but make sure there are enough keywords to get yoru content found in a google search.
- Be the go-to source for unique and relevant information.
- Don’t forget to add in a call to action. What do you want your readers to do once they’re done reading your post? Is it sign up for your newsletter? Buy your product. Leave a comment? Whatever the action is, make sure you leave something that prompts action.
